Why is a Photo / Avatar required in my profile?

PissPIgs requires that all members upload some type of photo / avatar to their profile.   We allow you to register without one, but if you have not added on within 2 weeks, then your account will be deactivated.

Because we had received a lot of complaints about too many members not having a profile photo, we polled the PissPigs members in May - June 2010.     By an overwhelming majority, members felt that a photo in the profile should be required, even if that photo is not a face shot.

Individuals repeatedly expressed the same sentiment on this subject. "I am here to meet people, and if they cannot take or be open enough the time to upload a photo to their profile, then its a waste of my time trying to communicate with them."   Other members felt that having so many passive members bogged the sight down.

So, the members have spoken.
